I'm Barbara Walker, an abstract painter based in Munnia Burrin, County Galway. My work explores the profound dialogue between light and shadow, presence and absence, through the timeless medium of black and white.
Each piece I create is a meditation on contrast—where bold strokes meet delicate whispers, where chaos finds harmony. Working exclusively in monochrome allows me to strip away distraction and focus on the raw emotion and movement within each composition.
My studio in the West of Ireland provides endless inspiration, from the dramatic Atlantic coastline to the ever-changing Irish skies. These natural rhythms and patterns find their way into my abstract expressions, creating a unique visual language that speaks to the soul.
With over two decades of experience, my work has been featured in galleries across Ireland and Europe. I believe art should evoke emotion, provoke thought, and transform spaces into sanctuaries of contemplation.
